Hi everybody,

for all, who liked the classic star trek games 25th anniversary and judgement rites, I made a testlevel of my project star trek FYNE.

Please remember, it is still a workplace...so there are several small bugs
I have to fix: Access violation at startscreen ( just ignore it, no problem )

-some problems with textouts
-sometimes changing rooms automatically ( if more characters are moved by the CPU )
-Text and sound at briefing soes not match together, it was just a test
-at some PCs are torpedoes and phasers not shown correctly. Spacebattles are not possible ( Mission can be started though )
-Phasers are not set to targets correctly, I still have to work on it...
-Sometimes you have to click twice to activate a link (f.e. accesscard for shuttle)

How to use :

Bridge : Pointer can be changed by mousewheel, sometimes the first
option is shown automatically.

Cpt Chair : Just try - not only one time (nice colored buttons)

Scotty : If your engines are damaged too much (yellow lines onder the
ceiling show the mainpower ), talk with scotty to get emergency power
or press key "e". Shields and engines can be used again now, if intact.

Damagecontrol (left side of scotty ) : opens a menu to choose the system
which should get high priority. Scotty will repair all systems automatically
with same priority if nothing has been chosen )

Spock : Depending of situation, he gives advice, if he can. Also try the computer by his advice ( f.e. AMC )

Sulu : Activates or deactivates the weapons and shields at click

Phaserfire : use key "c", chekov will just shoot a straight line into space yet...

Torpedoes : left mousebutton

Changing characters : "crewman icons" at taskbar will set focus to
Kirk, Spock, Scotty or someone else, if existing. ( McCoy is available for this mission but not shown here yet ) Some informations or actions
can just be shown if the correct character has been set.

Hi,

I am glad you like it. :mrgreen:

I will upload a better version soon with some bugfixes and a tutorial.
So you have time to watch around, but - if you know the original, you surely knew how to use the functions...Note, if you are at station and attacks will continue - try again but do not leave the ship until a second wave of drones have been eliminated, go to station AFTER that.

I think about changing the interface like the original, but until now I did not
like the results of it here....

Hi everybody,

a new version of the testgame of Star Trek Fyne is available on my HP.

What´s new ?

- Use the START MISSION Button to start a new mission, if the first one is completed

- I added a save / load menue

- 2nd combat got a new fighting engine

- You can choose the members of your landing party.
Depending on the persons, the mission shall change in styles, actions or rooms

- The tutorial got some more informations

Hi again,

the next mission of my project will come to an end to be able to play it for a test.

I am still looking for someone who is interested to test the mission and to

tell me, where I could make the gameplay better.

I also need some people who like to give the characters a voice.

I think about 5 or 6 people.

Hi out there,

I have uploaded the latest version of my project. The 2nd mission is playable now, I modified the save / load menu and and fixed some smaller
bugs.

Note : This game is still a project and not completely free of bugs.

Hi,

I nearly forgot to update the english news, sorry for that...

Some new ideas inspired me to change the project in some details.

I think about a cliffhanger if the actual mission ( release in septembre, if things are going fine ) .

The story will be continued with a new game, a kind of "episode 2".

So I can reduce the size of a download. Actually, I managed it to reduce
it from 450 MB to 430 MB, including the new data.

I hope to be able to offer smaller episodes in future.


The Tutorial is not what I imagined before. It was just built to give any kind of orientation to the players before they start a mission.

So I plan to program a demo version to check if you like the game or not.


Doing that make it possible to clean up my project and to test new elements like a kind of flight simulator. The graphics must be some different, so I will use the same symbols like in the game, but not as
a disappearing taskbar.

Release : still unknown.

I was not able to remove all bugs, obviously caused by the

According to the german updates of Star Trek Fyne
I want to post here for the international Star Trek Fans.

The actual project is called Scottys Log.

At the current state , it is designed as a test platform to check out new
graphics, new scripts and new ideas.

The positive results will become part of Episode II.

An actual version of Scottys Log and new screenshots can be downloaded at my HP.
Note : The current state does not show a GAME, just a tech demo.
But you should fire some torpedoes and phaser to the satellite on the bridge...

Scottys log is using the right mouse button this time.
Beside of that you can use the following keys in addition :

I : enter the option room ( still a workplace )
K: use ALL features, designed for faster systems
L: switch off some features, designed for slow systems
W:Switch on / off the weapons
S:Switch on / off the shields
C: use the comuter ( only on the bridge )
D: Show damage control
E: Activate Emergency Power

Anyone who might remember the old Interplay games Star Trek 25th
anniversairy or judgement rites, will recognize the new integrated
coin interface.

Hi,

some news about Star Trek Fyne :

the actual project Scotty´s log will be available as download soon.

But it is still a project, not a complete game. Some parts are still missing,
but I think the story can already be played completely then.

Current state : 80 % finished.

I will inform about a new download file. Size : 80 - 85 MB

The story is playable, but it is still a project under developement.

- Completing the Tutorial
- Optimizing several functions / graphics
- Installing of "game over" sequences

UPLOAD TIME !!!

Scottys Log has been finished now.

The full version ( V4_12) can be downloaded now.

New features compared to Episode I :

- Modification of the user interfaces by changing from taskbar to coin interface menu ( like at 25th anniversary )
- speeding up the space fights
- better graphics
- more sounds

and many more details.

All experiences will be used in the follwing project Start Trek Fyne - Episode II.

Hi everyone,

the current project will need more time as I expected. One reason is
the latest style of the graphics which shall become better than before.
( compared to Episode I... Scotty´s log was much better indeed - but only
"in-room" graphics )

Hi,

compared with the german informations, the english site just got badly
few updates.

So I will show the latest version of a cancelled room. I renewed the graphics,
because it was impossible to zoom the characters corretly.

I think the new style looks quite well....

I tried to renew the characters. I think the old graphics does not match
good enough to the background graphics.

One of the last old pictures can be seen in the post before.

Update News :

What about Episode II yet ?

Well,

I planned to continue with graphics of rooms and the new characters.

But then I tested the new figures and needed some objects which can be used. So I imported the rooms and scripts of Scottys Log and modified them
for using with the new game.

So I am working with a lot of small scripts everywhere astead of drawing new backgrounds...

However - I need all of them anyway...

The coin interface is working now and the basic items are functioning, too.
Kirk , Spock and bones are beginning to explore the new worlds now like
they should do that...

Some Update News :

The Story for the first of 2 Levels of Episode II has been fnished.

Now I am working at all the needed objects, items and a planned action
sequence.

The new characters have been upgraded and are already doing their jobs
quite well so far.

Some rooms have been added and the text engine has been built into the game.

Now a hot phase has begone...
